   have you contacted the maintainer there and asked them to track down the   
   upstream breakage? it is possible that the echo was removed from someone's   
   linked areas and that leaves everyone downstream of them with their own little   
   puddle that's not linked to the rest properly... i've seen it happen for   
   various reasons in the past... in one case, config file corruption was the   
   culprit... this is also why an operator should send some form of (re)link   
   message occasionally to ensure that they are connected to the areas they think   
   they are connected to...
