             I think you mean "pseudo-graphics"... but I'm not sure what you're   
   referring to here unless perhaps your keyboard doesn't include the ampersand   
   (i.e. a stylized form of the French word for "and").  This symbol is in such   
   common use among native speakers of English that schoolchildren memorized it   
   along with the alphabet during the 19th century.  Now that I think about it,   
   however, it seems to be notable by its absence in echomail from Russia.  ;-)
