Hi! Michael,              In a message to All you wrote:               MD> I've encountered such a phrase: "Betchya woulda forgot that one".              Spoken by an Englishman or Australian?               MD> Do I understand it correctly that it means "I bet you would forget        MD> that one"?              Very close, Michael. It's more likey "I bet you would have forgotten that       one". (The "a" attached to the word "would" is a clue, as it gives the short       sound of the word "have", and, therefore the tense.)              Cheers,       Paul.              ... You know you landed "gear up" when it takes full power to taxi.       --- Paul's Win98SE VirtualBox        * Origin: Quinn's Post - Maryborough, Queensland, OZ (3:640/384)    |
