   Emergency communicators and others may find the following information   
   of use.  FOllow the provided instructions to obtain further   
   information, or contact the listed sources.

   The National Hurricane Center in Miami FLorida is currently tracking the   
   following systems:    
       
   Hurricane EARL    
   Island and coastal residents should be aware of these storms,   
   their direction of movement and intensity.   
      
   IF any of these  systems  are  projected  to  make  landfall   
   within  the  next 24 to 48 hours additional information will   
   be provided below. IF you live  in  or  near  the  projected   
   locations   carefully   monitor  local  sources  of  weather   
   information and begin taking  steps  to  protect  lives  and   
   property now.   
      
      
   the  Hurricane  WAtch  Net  will  be  activating  due to the   
   proximity to land of Earl beginning at 19:00 UTC.  or  15:00   
   edt. today.   
      
   For  more  information or to track the storm on the internet   
   visit www.hwn.org on the world wide web.   
      
   The  Hurricane  WAtch  NEt activates whenever a hurricane is   
   expected to make landfall. THE  net  supports  the  National   
   Hurricane Center in Miami FLorida by collecting reports from   
   radio operators in the affected area and forwarding them  to   
   the NHC.   
      
   The  net  primarily utilizes 14325 khz upper sideband. OTher   
   frequencies  may  be  utilized  during  nighttime  hours  if   
   deemed necessary and appropriate.   
      
   Earl is expected to reach the outer banks of NOrth Carolina   
   late this afternoon, or evening.   
      
   IF  you  are not in the affected area, or are not one of the   
   net's recognized relay station operators please listen,  but   
   do not transmit.   
      
   Regular  updates  from  the National Hurricane Center on the   
   storm will also be presented periodically on the hwn frequencies.   
   All  other  storm  related  traffic will be handled on other   
   frequencies. HWN net control  will  have  information  about   
   other frequencies which may be in use.   
      
   Again, feel free to listen, but please do not transmit.
