   "We" don't "need" any of that. Those areas will happily keep on existing as   
   dead or alive as they always were, without moderator or elisting...

   Why would the ELIST maintainer in particular have to take over any areas? The   
   elist doesn't have an official status in fidonet, so anyone elisting an area   
   doesn't mean he automatically is the owner/moderator of an area. If an area   
   really needs a moderator that should come from the consensus of the   
   participants.
