On 10/19/11, Jeff Snyder quoted BOB KLAHN: Children of Light -- Are You       One?.              BK> Some people decide they are going to accept Christ, then go off and       BK> follow the path of evil. They accept the idea of accepting Christ, but       BK> never really understand what that means.                     Agreed. As I explain in a number of my articles, Saying some form of       Salvation Prayer is just the beginning of a long lifetime path which one is       expected to follow after accepting Christ. The Parable of the Sower comes to       mind. The Seed of God's Word must endure in our hearts. It must not be       choked out by the cares, temptations and struggles which we face in this       current life. In short, it must be lived. As the Apostle James informs us:              "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own       selves."       James 1:22, KJV              "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead       also."       James 2:26, KJV              That was the problem with the Scribes and the Pharisees. They were very good       at self-righteously preaching God's Law to others; but when it came to       actually living it themselves, they were absolute hypocrites. Thus, in       Matthew chapter twenty-three, Jesus said concerning them:              "Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying, The       scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they       bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for       they say, and do not."       Matthew 23:1-3, KJV              As the Apostle Paul likewise informs us, accepting Christ in our lives is       supposed to result in some major changes in our lifestyle, in our way of       thinking, in our way of carrying ourselves through this life, in our       attitude towards the world, etc. Basically, being spiritually reborn in       Christ is supposed to transform us into New Creatures in Jesus Christ. We       are supposed to be mentally and spiritually rewired. We are supposed to be       brainwashed and cleansed by God's Word. We are supposed to start with a new       slate. Consider the following verses:              "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you."       John 15:3, KJV              "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are       passed away; behold, all things are become new."       2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV              "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present       your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your       reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye       transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that       good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."       Romans 12:1-2, KJV              Putting on Christ is supposed to mean adios to the old man of sin which       dwells in our flesh, as we see by these verses:              "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin       might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."       Romans 6:6, KJV              "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for       to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find       not."       Romans 7:18, KJV              "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is       corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;"       Ephesians 4:22, KJV              "Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his       deeds;"       Colossians 3:9, KJV              And it is supposed to mean hello to the New Man of the Spirit who lives in       Christ, and who endeavors to live a godly life, as we see by these verses:              "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are       passed away; behold, all things are become new."       2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV              "And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness       and true holiness."       Ephesians 4:24, KJV              "And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image       of him that created him:"       Colossians 3:10, KJV              So, are you an Old Man, or a New Man? The choice is up to you.                                   Jeff Snyder, SysOp - Armageddon BBS Visit us at endtimeprophecy.org port 23       ----------------------------------------------------------------------------       Your Download Center 4 Mac BBS Software & Christian Files.
