I was just reading an article in the New York Times entitled "Several States   
   Forbid Abortion After 20 Weeks". As the title denotes, it concerns a variety   
   of state laws which make it illegal to perform an abortion on a woman who   
   has reached her twentieth week of pregnancy, unless it is to save her life,   
   or to prevent "serious physical impairment of a major bodily function", or   
   to avoid the death of the fetus itself. These new 20-week anti-abortion laws   
   -- which began being passed last year, and which are now present in   
   Nebraska, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma and Alabama, with other states to   
   follow next year -- do not make exceptions for rape or incest.   
      
   The central argument which has been used to legalize these new abortion   
   limits is fetal pain; that is, the belief that developing fetuses can feel   
   pain beginning at twenty weeks of age; and thus, performing an abortion   
   after that point is both cold-hearted and immoral.   
      
   Naturally, being the liberal newspaper that it is, the New York Times adopts   
   the position that anti-abortionists have gone too far, and attempts to cast   
   doubt on the belief that fetuses can actually feel pain at twenty weeks of   
   age, by quoting from a few medical sources.   
      
   As I clearly point out in my eight-part series "Abortion: Slaughter of the   
   Innocent", it is my personal belief that, if anything, enough still hasn't   
   been done to stop the murderous, greedy abortion butchers and the   
   hardhearted, unloving, selfish, irresponsible women and couples who   
   unnecessarily undergo this ungodly procedure. And, lest you have forgotten,   
   we are talking about approximately 1.2 million annual abortions in the USA   
   alone.   
      
   How God must weep!   
      
   Thus far, abortionists have been very cautious concerning initiating legal   
   challenges to these new 20-week laws, but that is only because they are   
   still gathering their weaponry and formulating a plan. They will no doubt   
   attack these new laws sooner or later.
