Which is why I'd be very explicit in the rules, but I made
the suggestion . That's one of the reason I made it.
IN that way anybody making it available to the general
public is known to be in violation, and that can be proved
to an ip (as in provider) or an uplink.

RW> I, for example, when I was feeding Daryl Stout passed the

RW> anybody within r14 back in the day. Then after awhile I
RW> even passed that one through to him without reading it.

Roy> That is against the present RC19's mandate that you get the regional
Roy> echoes from him. Only he can route it through a non-regional node.

RIght, but it had his approval. My link to it was him.
When Daryl changed feeds I still connected with him
regularly until he discontinued pots for awhile, but no
longer got the r19 echoes of course.

RW> The unseen point thing though is an old trick, and when I
RW> took down my system and was pointing off a buddy for awhile
RW> he fed me a lot of sysop restricted echoes as a point, read

RW> ld as a point to pick up fido traffic from somebody else as a point,
RW> and didn't really want the ld downloads of anything but certain
RW> echoes of particular interest to me.

   RW> Understood.

RW> But, were I mod in question I'd make it pretty explicit what sort of
RW> access was permitted, and what wasn't. YEs, some folks might
RW> circumvent those restrictions, but most long time Fido folks won't
RW> without good reason. I told my local boss node when I first started
RW> pointing off him and he was last man standing for local FIdo bbs that
RW> I really wasn't that interested, and that he was violating some
RW> standards of conduct. HE did ask permission from the nc for me to
RW> have write access to the netwide sysop echo though.

Roy> If you're acting like a sysop, why not treat you like a sysop...no
   Roy> harm in that.

That was his rationale, i was co-sysop of his board.

   Regards,
    Richard
