Several weeks ago, a vicious hailstorm occurred near the town of
Sampacho, in Cordoba, Argentina. The hail formed withing a
supercell thunderstorm, a type of severe thunderstorm with a
deep rotating updraft. These are the storms most often associated
with hail stones and tornadic weather. Individual stones from this
storm were slightly larger than marbles. Photo taken on January 17,
      2023.
