TW> Did Nannette Thacker release a key generator? I thought I'd seen one once
TW> but I can't find it now. It might of been registering them on

Tom Swartz (aka Night Rider) of Danger Bay BBS has it.

According to a social media post earlier this summer:

Tom Swartz: "I spoke with Nannette last year and obtained working keys along
with permission to give out reggies. The keys i have will register any name
   and bbs."

There were also generic freeware keys released for the Shining Star doors
hosted on the old BBSFiles site. All of them worked except for Leviathan's
Reef. The reason for this was explained in the same thread: "the reason that
the old key given out for these doors does not work is that you need to enter
a christian name and surname for it to work. Yes, the key generator will let
you make a key consisting of entries like system name, 'Shining Star Doors'
and the name of the sysop as 'Enjoy!', but if you try to enter them, along
with the corresponding key code, the name and code will be rejected by said
door, and an entry in the maint.DBF file will be put in that says 'hacker BBS'
'Tightwad cheap users', and trying to register your game using a key you've
made from leaving the BBS name and sysop name blank won't work either."

So reach out to Tom of Danger Bay BBS if you want keys for these.
