   Hello Jay!

Tue Jun 07 2011, Jay Dickinson wrote to Gert Andersen:

JD>>Two questions: What version of ISA? Example mine is v0.992
    GA>> I have upgraded v0.993 to v0.994 and then to v0.994a

JD>Ok you have three versions newer than mine. I am going to assume that:
JD>1: you over wrote the isa.exe and the isa.ovr file on each upgrade and,
JD>2: you ran the upgrade utility on each and
JD>3: you ran isasetup on each upgrade.
JD>4: you can play the game from a command prompt (ISA /L)

Just checking for it and it is rather 2 version I have isa099.zip and
   v0.994.zip
So I have in the zip file v0.994 a txt say the isa files is v0.993a and a file
   named 993to994.exe
but somehow in the whatnew file it sat it is 994a some beta for before 0.0995
where we just wait for version 0.995 to come and be finished and this new
version has i not found any places on web.

I have unzipped v.994 in to \isa\ dir and then run 993to994 the install.txt
say it should make 0.994 to 0.0994a version.
So maybe it is better to just start with only use 0.994 and do no ru with
993to994 and only ruin isasetup.exe do it all.

The isa099.zip is some version og 4 to 5 isa door games and I do not know if
it is newer than v0.0994 as it has 4to5.exe in it.

JD>>And are you running ISA /M in midnight maintenance?
JD>>That is how your *.rep is created.
    GA>>
GA>> I try it but it just going gaming play and when I try choice 6 (do not
GA>> really play, isa crash with a error by overlay error and stops, and no
GA>> .rep file is been made.
GA>> I have tried isa bot on my linux dosemu on a 64bit and 32bit system,
GA>> and too on my win32 XP and the same happens no .rep is done and
    GA>> created after isa /M or /m.

JD>Ok, on my system, anytime I see an overlay error, it is generaly an ems
JD>error. However, not allways. (Door game programers feel free to jump in
JD>here) ISA has the ability to run without letting the overlay swap to
JD>ems by creating a file named NOEMS.
JD>You do not have to use any parameters or anything just create the file
    JD>name in the isa directory.

The pc there should do the first .rep file a amd64 pc and have some issues
with old dos programs and can be the reason that isa not like to run ad do its
things well. The other pc I have tried it on by dosemu is a 32-bit pc with
   dual processor.
The same is the windows XP I too have tried it out on, it have a 32-bit system
   and run dual processor too.

GA>> Both on my main system is it KFB and on secund system is it KS2 adn
    GA>> notiong is created.
GA>> It is just saying not in any InterBBS playing.

JD>Are you letting the isasetup create the nodes.ctl files? Does your
JD>mailer see them and send the file to the other bbs's in your
JD>group/league? What happens when you run isapack or isaunpack?

    GA>> I should maybe try a isa 0.992 to 993 and up after I have got a v0.992
    GA>> and created a test run with nodes.ctl nodes.cfg and isanodes.dat.
GA>> This 3 fiels starting with the next node in the interbbs gaming but
GA>> shopdl too have my self in too.

JD>Gert, all of this is based off what my setup is/was. Again, you have
JD>three versions newer than mine. These are just suggestions and you
JD>should take care with them. I don't usually go backwards on versions.
JD>They made upgrades for a reason. Speaking of they, is it still
    JD>"Minds Edge"?

JD>One last thing, make SURE you have the correct *.exe and *.ovr file for
    JD>the version you are using.
