   as far as system load during the actual use of telnet_gate and similar, we've   
   not seen any on the synchronet system hosted over here... we have something   
   set up for accessing weather forecasts via telnet and there's not even a blip   
   on the system when it is in use... we've not tried anything like linking to   
   gameserv stuff... but you might get more and better information in the   
   SYNC_SYSOPS or SYNCHRONET echos :)
