Re: Playing doom 2013        By: Clara Horn to all on Wed Jul 17 2013 06:48 am               CH> Hi there.        CH> I am wondering if its possible to play DOOM I or II today on servers that        CH> are up. If so , how does it work?         CH> I had so much fun playing doom over null cable and modem back in the day.              Since the Doom engine went open source there have been a ton of new DOOM       engines created, most of them offer robust client/server support over tcp/ip       and other connection methods. Server browsers, map/content streaming, you name       it.              I'd start with Google, search for DOOM Modern Versions maybe? I found one for       you that I tested. (Got online in about 3 minutes, that included the time it       took to find my doom.wad files) connected to a server and played for 30       seconds before a bot fragged me. http://zandronum.com/              Open Source, 64 player support, supports all ZDoom and GZDoom mods, etc.       --       Andy/Android8675              --- SBBSecho 2.20-Win32        * Origin: Shodan's Core - shodan.synchro.net (1:143/600)    |
