      > Seems like that good ole' boy Rick is in some deep doodoo... this is going to       > be so much fun to watch...              EC> Legally, this is a joke. No one is going to believe that it is illegal to       try        EC> to get someone to take a legal action by conditioning it on a legal action.       It        EC> is not as absurd as when the same office tried to go after Kay Bailey's       phone,        EC> but it is pretty close.              Quite possible... but it is going to be fun to watch as I stated.                     EC> Politically, it is a dumb act of revenge. They want to get some testimony       in        EC> that will publicize the ethics investigations of the Perry administration       by        EC> the ethics panel that lost some money, but unless they can get some solid        EC> evidence that his "real" reason for the veto was to hurt the investigations       I        EC> cannot see a judge letting it in. Not even a Texas judge. And if the        EC> prosecution DOES make the case that he was trying to kill the       investigations,        EC> that UNDERCUTS the whole idea that he was trying to coerce her into       resigning.              From what I read the prosecutor is a judge...               EC> Politically, they should be trying to HELP Perry's 2016 chances. He is       dumb.        EC> He is inept. His campaign will self-destruct next spring some time. If he              EC> gets hurt politically by this, in spite of being eventually acquitted, that              EC> just pushes him out of the way early, and offers more momentum for some        EC> candidate that is less dumb and less inept.              Oh, I agree but there are a quite a few who thinks he walks on water in the       lone star. I do enjoy getting a chuckle from the things he forgets during the       debates though, so I hope he hangs in there. Imagine the grand jury waited to       see if Rick was nominated and then pulled the trigger... now THAT would have       been hilarious!!!               EC> And it does nothing to take the drunk DA off the public streets before       anyone        EC> is killed in a wreck.              Wonder how many felt the same way about GW Bush's DUI and "expungned" coke       conviction or Dick Cheney's two DWI pops.               In reviewing Texas statistics, DWI seems to be quite popular with the good ol'       boys... or in this case, gal. They lead the nation in deaths resulting from       DWI. Good work boys...                       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32        * Origin: TequilaMockingbird Online - Toms River, NJ (1:266/404)    |
