|    Impeach the President    |

Hello Bob,              According to the latest poll, this one by       CNN, 57% of Republicans favor impeaching       President Barack Obama, while 33% of all       Americans favor impeachment.              Since Republicans now control both the       House and the Senate, Republican politicians       are openly talking about doing just that.       Not as an idle threat, but making it a reality.              Are Republicans insane? Are the American people       insane? Are our elected officials insane?              Richard Nixon resigned from office in disgrace.       But he was never impeached. Nor was he forcibly       removed from office.              Democrats knew better than to impeach an unpopular       president, and sure hated to see him leave the White       House when he did. But even so, Democrats still won       68 Senate seats and almost 2/3rds of the House, along       with the Presidency in 1976. In fact, due to Nixon's       unpopularity, Democrats controlled both the Senate       and the House for the ehtire Carter presidency.              The fact of the matter is that good things happen for       the American people when Democrats control everything -              FDR, JFK, LBJ, Jimmy Carter (entire terms in office)       Harry Truman, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama (partial terms in office)              Those were the best of times.              On the other side of the coin, bad things happen for       the American people when Republicans control everything -              Herbert Hoover, George W. Bush ...              Those were the worst of times.              How quickly people forget.              The economic crash of 2007.       The ineptitude of Katrina.       The invasion of Iraq.       The invasion of Afghanistan.       The events of 9-11.       The squandering of the surplus.              That is the legacy of George W. Bush.              You want to know why folks continue       to love and adore Bill Clinton?              The creation of 22 million new jobs       during the Clinton Administration.              That is just one of the many reasons.              Bill Clinton. Left office with the highest approval       rating in history, even higher than Ronald Reagan, the       dead man adored by Republicans as a living god.              In six years, the Obama Administration has managed the       creation of 6.8 million new jobs in the private sector.       Millions of working Americans have also been given the       opportunity to have health insurance for the first time       in their lives. All thanks to Obamacare.              How many new jobs were created under the Bush Administration?       Republicans are too embarrassed to say or admit.              "It's the economy, stupid!" - James Carville              That quote became Bill Clinton's campaign       battle cry against George H.W. Bush.              "It's still the economy, stupid!" - Lee Lofaso              That quote is what the future Democratic nominee       for president should use as his/her campaign battle       cry against Jeb Bush, the presumed Republican nominee       for president in 2016.              Clinton vs. Bush. That is the presumed presidential       contest for 2016. But all the polls show Hillary Clinton       trouncing Jeb Bush and all other Republican wannabes.              So Republicans had to come up with a new game plan. What       is that new game plan? Impeach the president. With Barack       Obama impeached and removed from office, Joe Biden will be       sworn in as president. And there is no way that Democrats       will dump an incumbent president in favor of nominating a       ditzy blonde ...              --Lee              --- MesNews/1.08.05.00-gb        * Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2)    |
