Hello Bob,              BK>Michigan and Ohio are both run by the republican party.              Louisiana is also run by the republican party. Along with       several other states.              BK>Michigan has Synder, Ohio has Kasich. Michigan has the       BK>advantage, their governor's name is easier to pronounce.              Only liberal commentator Ed Schultz can screw up pronouncing       Jindal. But then, Ed Schultz is like Jimmy Carter, having only       peanuts for brains.              In any event, your point that several states are run by       the republican party is spot on. Rather than acknowledging       and doing what the people want, those governors acknowledge       and do what their beloved political party wants. Playing       to an ideology, pretending that is what the people want.              BK>Both governors have done their best to stick it to the working       BK>people, both have shunted off money to their buddies. Ohio now       BK>has it's business development money being handled by a private       BK>firm, with no reporting to the state, no auditing by the state,       BK>and no open meeting requirements. This is the republican party       BK>that gave 50 million to Tom Noe and didn't bother to check on       BK>him until the papers revealed how he was ripping off the state.              BK>They fixed that, though, this new agency has much better       BK>secrecy, so you can't tell when they are ripping off the state.              Nothing is done is secret, the republican party knowing exactly       what their governors are doing. After all, the republican party       paid for them. It only makes sense for the republican party to       get what it paid for.              BK>Yet, dispite both governors doing their best to push down the       BK>working class, the right wing is still not satisfied. See, both       BK>governors understand that expanding medicaid will pay off big       BK>time for the state, yet the republican legislatures are so far       BK>right, they can't even get behind their governor when he is       BK>trying to do something that will pay off so well for the state.              It is not what will pay off for the state, but rather what will       pay off for the republican party and its benefactors.              BK>Oh, and Snyder understands that a new bridge to Canada is a       BK>great idea, esp since it's both the major crossover point for       BK>Canadian trade, and a national security issue. Yet the state       BK>legislature is so cheaply bought they won't approve the new       BK>bridge, even though it won't cost the state a penny.              US Senator Ted Stevens built a bridge to nowhere in Alaska.       And then he went and got himself killed in a plane crash.              Governor Jimmie Davis was much smarter than that. He built a bridge       to nowhere, had the bridge named after a song he wrote, and made a movie       (with him as the star) while in office (not even Arnold Schwarzenegger       did that).              BK>Some people just can't win for losing.              Worked for Sarah Palin.              --Lee                      * SLMR 2.1a * "I am a citizen of the world." - Diogenes the Dog              --- Maximus 3.01        * Origin: Xaragmata / Adelaide SA telnet://xaragmata.mooo.com (3:800/432)    |
