Curious as to why you singled out "liberal democrats" in your statement? Does
not the lastest form of "gerrymandering" find it's home in the GOP camp? Did
they not also try and ban voting by both limiting the timeframe and also
requireing certain credentials allowing them the opportunity? Is it now the
latest rage of the GOP to destroy certain communities filled with those who's
views do not match their own? Granted, this has been going on and probably
will go on long after we're 6 feet under but let's be realistic.

May I also ask why you do not believe the Constitution is not a living,
expandable document meant to mirror the intents of society at any specific
time? There are significantly more Ammendments attached that clarifies the need
for it to grow, and in the case of the XVIII, repealed.

No one can predict the future and that was the genius embedded within the
document. The writers were men, not gods and they knew this. Politics played a
significant role in its drafting just as politics plays a role in its
interputation today. Maybe we should just get rid of the "Republic" side of
the equation and let the people decide. Just think of all the $$ we'd save by
sending Congress home on a permenant sequester.
