|    What EVery Muslim Believes    |
|    03 Jan 13 01:20:10    |
Hello Bob,               LL>> There are five things that every Muslim in the world        LL>> believes. Not only that, but every Muslim in the world        LL>> believes those five things in a particular order. Can        LL>> anybody in this forum tell me what those five things are,        LL>> and in what order those five things must be believed?              "It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East       and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and       the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets."       - Surah 2:177 (Pickthall)              BK>Abraham was a prophet and the father of the       BK>Jewish/Christian/Muslim faiths.              So? Even though Christians, Muslims and Jews are all of the       blood of Abraham, that is not the basis of what Muslims must believe.              BK>Jesus was a prophet, and greater than Muhammad.              The Muslim Jesus is known as Isa. To Muslims, Isa is/was       a prophet. Just like Muhammad. However, Isa is inferior to       Muhammad, as no prophet can be greater than Muhammad. You       see, Muhammad was the last of the Jewish Prophets. And no       prophet can come after Muhammad. Unnerstan'?              BK>Muhammad was a prophet, but not as great as Jesus.              Muhammad was the last of the Jewish Prophets, and none can come       after him. Any messenger who had come before Muhammad was a lesser       prophet, as it was Muhammad who gave the world the Holy Qur'an.              Belief in Jesus has [almost] nothing to do with it.       Belief in Muhammad has [almost] nothing to do with it.       Read the above quote from the Qur'an again.       Belief in the prophets is a must for Muslims.       But it is the last of the musts.              BK>Muslims cannot hate Jews or Christians, or make war on them       BK>except in self defense.              Hatred of Jews and/or Christians has nothing to do with       what Muslims must believe.              BK>There is only one God.              The Muslim God is not the same as the Jewish God of the Christian God.       Read the quote from the Qur'an again. Read what it really says.              BK>And that God thinks Lee Lafaso is slightly... oh, sorry, that       BK>was a diversion.              You misspelled the Dajjal's name again ...       .... but it is part of what Muslims must believe.              There are signs (major and minor) of what will come before       the Last Day. Two of the signs are the comming of the Mahdi       and the coming of the Dajjal. A Muslim concept of the Messiah       versus the Antichrist. A topic all by itself.              BK>Unless you are thinking of the Pillars of Islam.              Totally different topic.              The Pillars of Islam describe what Muslims must do -              1. the shahada (Islamic creed)       2. daily prayer (salah)       3. almsgiving (zakat)       4. fasting during Ramadan (sawrn)       5. the pilgrimmage to Mecca (hajj)              That is not necessarily the same thing       as what Muslims must believe. For example,       Catholics receive communion. But how many       Catholics truly believe the wafer they put       into their mouth is the actual body of Christ?       Or the wine they drink is the actual blood       of Christ? It is simply part of their ritual.       Things they do for the sake of doing.              Read the quote from the Qur'an again.       I'll break it down into simplistic terms       so that you and all can understand. The       five things mentioned in the quote are,       in order -              1. Belief in Allah       2. Belief in the Last Day       3. Belief in angels       4. Belief in the Scripture       5. Belief in the prophets              Is that so different from what Jews and Christians believe?       Muslims refer to Jews and Christians as "people of the book".       Muslims believe in Torah. Muslims believe in the Gospel.       As a result, Muslims believe they are Christians already -       only better because they have the Holy Qur'an.              Judaism is very complex religion, with many laws.       For example, there are 613 commandments that must be       obeyed by every Jew.              Christianity is like a simplified Judaism, with much       fewer laws. For example, there are only 10 commandments       that must be obeyed by every Christian.              Islam is like Christianity For Dummies, with adherents       only having to do as they are told. Kind of like playing       a game of Simon says.              What comes after Islam is anybody's guess. Maybe a new       religion led by Beavis and Butthead? Nah. Been there.       Done that. Ran out of toilet paper rolls.              --Lee              --- MesNews/1.06.00.00-gb        * Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2)    |
