   Assault Weapons Ban
   19 Dec 12 22:36:53

   Hello Richard,

    >> The bitch is a hypocrite. She has a carry permit issued to her personally.
    >> Let me know when she give up her fire arms.

RM>> I have a carry permit as well along with several pistols. No assault
RM>> rifles though. The two do not have to go together.

RW>I support open carry myself, imho an armed society is a
   RW>polite society.

Japan is an armed society. The UK is an armed society. China is
an armed society. In fact, Beijing is reputed to be the safest city
in the world. And so is London. And Tokyo. And many other cities
throughout the world. However, the one thing that is common with all
those cities is that ownership guns are banned. Not just assault
weapons, but pretty much all guns (staple guns might be an exception).

Many American tourists have visited China. And the one thing that
Americans find amazing is how amazingly friendly the Chinese people
are. Especially their friendliness towards Americans.

The same thing with Japanese. The first thing that happens when
you go to a Japanese restaurant is a very nice-looking Japanese lady
comes up to you and offers to take off your shoes. And then she
escorts you to a table and gives you a bowl of rice. And that is
before she asks you what you want. Now that is what you call service.
Of course, there are no chairs by the table so you have to sit on the
floor and cross your legs. And then learn how to pick up the rice
with two little sticks. But hey. Japanese understand how clumsy
Americans are, and in the most friendliest of ways she smiles, points
her finger at him, and says "Guy - JIN! Guy - JIN!" while everybody
else in restaurant roars with laughter.

And lets not forget about Vietnamese. Vietnamese are most friendliest
people of all time. Very wealthy now, after winning American war.
No guns for Vietnamese. First thing they find when coming to America
is shrimp boat. Entire Vietnamese family live on shrimp boat. Paid
for by rich uncle everybody call Sam. Not only get boat from Sam, but
also free food. Not to mention small business loan never have to pay
back. No need for guns with friendly Sam. He give even without asking.
Anyway, Bill Gates like Vietnamese so much he decide to be like Sam
and give computers away. But only in Vietnam since Vietnamese already
   have computers in America.

   Houston try to get Olympics.
   Beijing is awarded Olympics.

   Chicago try to get Olympics.
   London is awarded Olympics.

New Orleans try to get Olympics.
Might even get it if Olympic Committee
get LANOI airport confused with HANOI.

RW>yEt I also support an assault weapons ban. A functional
RW>illiterate with a backwards baseball cap and a third grade
RW>education does not need to be wielding a weapon which can
RW>kill an innocent person a block away because it doesn't
RW>have the sense to control its weapon.

Drug dealers love assault weapons. Very effective
killing other drug dealers (mostly in Mexico). Other
criminals also like assault weapons. As well as nutjobs.
Assualt weapons are not used for hunting. They are used
for killing people. As such, those weapons should be
banned. And not just in this country.

RW>But, imho an armed society is a polite society.

Armed with what? Are knives sufficient? What about bows and arrows?
How far should we go in banning weapons? I am not against ownership
of guns. I own several guns. None of them assault weapons, as I can
find no need or purpose for owning one.

And it is not only a question as to what guns should be allowed for
purchase, but also who should be allowed to own those guns. The fellow
who kiilled those school children and adults in Connecticut had some
very real mental problems, and it was only a matter of time until he
went ballistic. All the signs were there that something bad would
happen. And nobody did a thing. Not even his mother (who is among
   the dead).

Rw>But, military style weapons in the hands of the untrained should be
   RW>banned imho. That's reasonable.

Military weapons are very tightly controlled, as they should be.
Assault weapons should be banned, as they once were, so that even
those who are trained would not be able to purchase them. How
did the guy who killed all those school children get a hold of
the rifle and two handguns he had with him? By breaking into
the cabinet holding those guns and killing his mother. It was
his mother who had purchased the guns and ammo. Not the guy who
   did the shootings.

RW>But, having a carry permit and supporting an assault weapons ban
RW>doesn't make one a hypocrite, at least if one has a functioning
   RW>brain.
