|    An Excellent Choice    |
|    16 Dec 12 23:37:21    |
Hello Everybody,              Some of you may remember George Pope, who once haunted       several Fidonet forums, especially those dealing with topics       concerning religion and politics. He has resurfaced, having       been found somewhere in the Frozen Nawth where only caribou,       reindeer, and Canucks are confortable. This is what he had       to say, on a very important subject -              http://thelasource.com/en/2012/12/11/george-pope-hiring-disabled-       people-is-an-excellent-choice/              Why is it that Canadians, Europeans, Australians, and everybody       else in the civilized think it is "an excellent choice" to hire       the disabled, while here in America those who are disabled are       forced to continue living in misery?              I cannot believe that Americans are so callous as to turn their       backs on their fellow man/woman because of disability. However,       what I can believe is insurance companies wanting to maximize       profits by refusing to insure people with disabilities. And       that is what is so sickening about our "healthcare for profit"       system. Insurance companies would rather those people die, and       die quickly, rather than have to cover the cost of keeping them       alive.              Unfortunately, insurance companies in America can continue their       discrimination against people with disabilities for one more year,       the Affordable Care Act not taking full effect until 2014.              George Pope is one of the lucky ones, as he is Canadian.              --Lee              --- MesNews/1.06.00.00-gb        * Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2)    |
