Hello Richard,              >MM>She is going to lead me to vote for Obama if she is the Republican       >MM>nominee.              RW>SHe would induce me to vote for Obama instead of       RW>libertarian were she the Republican nominee.              What's wrong with having a woman president? We had a woman       governor of Louisiana. Kathleen Blanco. She beat Piyush Jindal       for the job. The only politician ever to defeat the boy genius.              RW>You're probably closer to the pulse of REpublican politics       RW>than I am, but after choosing Palin as vp candidate in '08       RW>it seems to me the REpublicans with their tea party       RW>supporters might just be braindead enough to nominate her       RW>for the big job. What do you think?              Women are taking over. First it started in the home. Then it       started in the office. Then they moved on to city hall. And then       the mayor's office. And then the state legislature. And then the       governorship. And now in both houses of Congress, along with the       Cabinet, two of them having run for vice president (Democrat       Geraldine Ferraro and Republican Sarah Palin), and now they have       their sights squarely on the presidency, not being satisfied       with being second banana to anyone.              It is not just in this country that women are taking over.       England. Argentina. Brazil. Philippines. Thailand. It       will happen here. Sooner, rather than later.              And it is not just women who are taking over. Gays and lesbians       are also doing the same. As well as transgendered. But there is       one group which will probably never win the presidency. Probably       the one and only group Muslims (and Mormons) could beat. Do you       know what group that is? A candidate who is openly atheist does       not have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the presidency.       Even though the president himself/herself must rule as an atheist.              If you had a choice of voting between an openly gay candidate       and an openly atheist candidate, which candidate would you vote       for? Which candidate do you think most folks would vote for?              --Lee                      * SLMR 2.1a * ESAD - Earth Saint Annie Dillard              --- Maximus 3.01        # Origin: Xaragmata / Adelaide SA telnet://xaragmata.mooo.com (3:800/432)        * Origin: Eye Of the Hurricane BBS (eoth.dyndns.org) (1:123/57)    |
