Hello Bob,               JM>> The Supreme Court says you do not have a Constitutional right        JM>> to vote for President.               BK>> Only if you count voting for the electoral college as not voting        BK>> for president.               LL>> State legislatures decide how such elections are to be held.        LL>> Consider what would have happened had GWB not gotten his        LL>> way with the US Supreme Court. GWB's brother Jeb was fully        LL>> prepared to have his state secretary of state (Katherine        LL>> Harris) refuse to certify the Florida election results,        LL>> with some lame excuse (such as the question pertaining to        LL>> how many votes cast were valid), thus allowing the        LL>> Republican-controlled state legislature to award all of its        LL>> electoral votes to GWB.              BK>That was part of the vast corruption of the republican party.              You mean to tell me that Hillary Rodham Clinton was right, that       there really is "a vast right-wing conspiracy"? You do realize who       that makes you sound like like. The Donald of the Left. And I do       not mean that as a compliment. :)               LL>> Yes, people have a Constitutional right to vote. However,        LL>> what elections people are allowed to vote on is quite        LL>> another matter.              BK>More important, who counts the votes.              That's almost as bad as who watches the watchers.       Or maybe worse. Depending on one's point of view.               LL>> That should be enough to whet your appetite. :)              BK>Boring stuff deleted.              Did you know that Franklin D. Roosevelt's great great       grandfather, Isaac, and Teddy Roosevelt's great grandfather,       James, were 1st cousins once removed and they married two women       who were 4th cousins? Well, it's true! I found that little       snippet of truth from "Ancestors of American Presidents", by       Gary Boyd Roberts. Now. Bear with me for just a second.       Get out your scratchpad and figure this out. First cousins       ten times removed are distant. That's ten generations, or       roughly 250 years, apart. This is exactly the same relationship       you share with your 8-great-grandparent's cousin who lived 250       years ago, probably somewhere in Africa. And do you know what       that makes you and Barack Obama? KISSIN' COUSINS!              Well, maybe not exactly kissin' ...              .... especially if you and Barack are tenth cousins (otherwise       known as FIGHTIN' COUSINS).              However, it is possible that you and Barack might be tenth cousins       once removed, especially since you are both close in age.              OTOH, tenth cousins ten times removed could be just as likely.              To recap, tenth cousins descend from a couple (one man, one woman       in times past, but could be one man, one man or one woman, one woman       in today's world), who lived a long, long time ago. How close in       years those cousins are depends on the number of generations between       them. And that means you have tenth cousins, eleventh cousins, even       fiftieth cousins all occupying this planet all at the same time and       whom you do nbot know or even have a clue as to who they might be.              BK> ..
