Hello John,               JM>> The bastard got barely 50% so he got NO overwhelming mandate to do        JM>> anything.               LL>> President Barack Obama did GREAT in the popular vote, being the first        LL>> Democrat re-elected President since FDR with at least 50% of the vote.        LL>> And his margin of victory in the electoral college was almost as large        LL>> as it was four years ago. I would classify President Barack Obama's        LL>> re-election as being a clear mandate to lead this country for another        LL>> four years,              JM>Lead for 4 "more" years is imposable as he has not lead one single       JM>day so far.              President Obama saved the auto industry, kept the economy as a       whole from tanking, and offed Osama bin Laden. And that was just       for starters.               JM>> It's The Democrats that have played the Race card , the wealth envy        JM>> card, and flat out lying card and immigration card.               LL>> I understand conservatives are jealous, wanting to be black. Or at        LL>> least latino/latina. But hey. It's not the end of the world. Just        LL>> get some charcoal, mash it up, mix it with water, and apply to face.        LL>> Or burnt cork. But be careful about the hair...               JM>> The stock market is down, companies are already laying off people        JM>> and that is only after one day. If you think for one minute things        JM>> are going to get better then you are in for a huge surprise.               LL>> I told you, man. With Obama everything is gonna be free.              JM>If you believe that you are a fool.              Every nigger on the street knows they have a friend in Obama.       You don't believe me? Just look at the results from election day,       especially those results from Washington, DC -               Barack Obama 91%        Mitt Romney 7%              I am sure that Obama's numbers would have been higher had every       black voter been able to read and write...               JM>> People like me are shutting down. I plan on paying NO taxes for        JM>> the next four years.               LL>> Everybody pays taxes. Sales tax doesn't count.              Please do not misquote my words, as I did not write "Sales tax       doesn't count."               JM>> I have already informed the two BO supporters that worked for        JM>> me that they are history.lations               LL>> Firing employees because of who they voted for is the most        LL>> stupidest reason (if one can call such a thing a reason) an        LL>> employer could do. Why would an employer care who an employee        LL>> voted for, or intends to vote for? Unless that employer is a        LL>> political candidate and that employee is a (paid) staff member,        LL>> it makes no difference what political views an employee might        LL>> have. And based on the comments you have made in this forum,        LL>> you are not, and have never been, a political candidate running        LL>> for public office.              JM>If the politics of the employe involves voting for a candidate that       JM>will cost my company money do to new regulations ( check out the new       JM>calculation formula for how "full Time" is figured) then I have       JM>the right to fire them.              In Louisiana, employers do not have to give a reason in order to fire       an employee. However, that is not the issue. I am not questioning an       employer's "right" to fire an employee. What I am saying is that it is       extremely stupid for an employer to fire an employee on the basis of       who that employee voted for or intended to vote for.              When a voter walks into the voting booth, the curtains are drawn.       Nobody knows who the voter intends to vote for, or who that voter       has voted for. And that is the way it should be.              Voting is a Constitutional right, not a privilege. Denying people       the right to vote for candidates of their choice (such as making       threats to fire employees who do not vote or intend to vote for the       candidates an employer likes) is an abridgement of that basic       Constitional right. It is even worse for employer to actually fire       employees on that basis.              But hey. I guess that is the only way Republicans think they can       win. Suppress the vote. By any means necessary. Worked great for       Southerners before the Civil War, as well as afterwards during the       decades of segregation/Jim Crow laws.               JM>> A friend has fired 5 Bo supporters and told 6 part timers that        JM>> their hours have been cut to a max of 25 a week to keep them from        JM>> being classed as "full time" under the new guidelines.               LL>> Your friend apparently has the same stupid mentality. I can do        LL>> many things. But one thing I cannot do is fix stupid.              JM>So you think it's stupid to try and save the jobs of 49 others by       JM>letting 5 people go?              I was being nice. Rather than stupid, I find it downright racist.       As would most, if not all, decent people. Just change a few words       of this well-known song and you will (or should) soon recognize the       racism present and inherent in today's version of the Republican       Party (and its Tea Party stepchild) -               NO IRISH NEED APPLY        Lyrics by J.F. Poole        -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-              I'm a decent boy just landed from the town of Ballyfad,       I want a situation, and I want it very bad.       I have seen employment advertised--" "Tis just the thing," says I.       But the dirty spalpeen ended with "No Irish need apply."              Refrain:       Some do count it a misfortune to be christened Pat or Dan,       But to me it is an honor to be born an Irishman.              "Whoa," says I, "but that's an insult,       though to get the place I'll try."       So I went to see this blackguard       with his "No Irish need apply."              Refrain:       Some do count it a misfortune to be christened Pat or Dan,       But to me it is an honor to be born an Irishman.              --Lee              --- MesNews/1.06.00.00-gb        * Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2)    |
