Hello John,              >LL>It is time to end the "healthcare for profit" scam that exists       >LL>in this country. It should have been brought to an end long ago.       >LL>Access to quality health care should not be reserved only for       >LL>those few who are rich enough to afford it, as nobody can truly       >LL>afford to get sick and die. It is a sick and disgusting system       >LL>that we have, worse than what the poorest folks in third world       >LL>countries have.              JM>Gee Lee, why don't you tell us how you really feel?              Do you really want me to?              JM>People can't live without food.              Yes, they can. Not for very long, but they can live without it.       Kind of like women living without sex. They can do it. Just not       for very long.              JM>Is it time to end the food for profit scam that exists in this       JM>country?              Absolutely. Except for sugar cane farmers. And rice farmers.              JM>How about shelter?              Shelter is a necessity. And yet the cost of shelter is completely       out of reach for many. One out of eight Americans are homeless and       living on the streets. Something is very wrong with that picture.              JM>Can't live without shelter, guess it's time to end that old building       JM>and real estate scam.              One out of eight Americans manage to survive without owning or       renting a house/apartment. Shelter for them might be a cardboard       box or a dwelling under a bridge, leaving them exposed to the       elements. The lucky ones are those who have found semi-permanent       dwellings in our nation's jails, prisons and nuthouses.              >LL>It's too bad no cops              JM>Or one armed civilian with the training to properly handle a firearm.              Adolf Hitler knew better than to even try to invade Switzerland.       But then, the Swiss have brains, not just brawn, and know what to       do with their money as well as their guns.              >LL>were around at that movie       >LL>theater in Aurora, Colorado...              >JM>Should have said care for instead care about.       >JM>You do understand the difference between "to care for"       >JM>and "to care about."              >BK>Yes. But it's not as wide as you seem to think.              >JM>Or as close as you do.              >LL>Obviously, those 12 people killed in that movie theater did not need       >LL>medical attention. But what about the 58 or 59 others who were wounded       >LL>Did they need to have health insurance in order to receive medical       >LL>attention? Obviously not. And why should anybody be forced to have       >LL>health insurance?              JM>No one should be forced to buy health insurance; But if you       JM>don't provide for yourself, or pay into some scam run by       JM>the government, you should not expect other people to be       JM>forced to bail you out.              Duties and obligations are not "voluntary". What would you think       of this country had you been a veteran, served in a foreign war (such       as Vietnam or Iraq), and had to seek medical help from a VA hospital       only to be turned away because your president (or congress) failed to       provide adequate funding for your needs? This has happened in times       past, and continues to happen today.              Just as we should not let our politicians get away with shirking       their own duties and obligations, we should also hold others' feet       to the fire. Especially when it comes to access to quality health       care.              >>> Continued to next message               * SLMR 2.1a * Backup not found: (A)bort (R)etry (P)anic              --- Maximus 3.01        * Origin: Xaragmata / Adelaide SA telnet://xaragmata.mooo.com (3:800/432)    |
