JM> 'Let me get this straight . . ..        JM> We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are        JM> forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which,               Nope. The "plan" is not what you purchase. You purchase        insurance from the private sector. The "plan" is just a way to        set it up.               JM> purportedly covers at least ten million more people,               More like 30 million.               JM> without adding a single new doctor,               JM> but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,               ACA does not provide for one single new IRS agent. The false        claim originated with republican members of the house W&M        committee, who took the highest projected number, assumed all of        the money went to hiring employees, nothing for offices or        supplies or computers, etc, that there would be no raises over        the next decade and a half, and no inflation. From that they        derived the govt *MAY* hire 16,500 new *EMPLOYEES*, not agents.               Agents are the ones who call on you to collect, or conduct face        to face audits. And the ones who are LEOs, and carry guns, are        Special Agents, not just agents.               The more accurate estimate is about 5,000 employees, few of whom        will be agents of any kind. Most will be clerks and analysts and        accountants and their work is likely to be mostly processing tax        credits for small businesses.               Info from Fact Check and Politi Fact.               JM> written by a committee whose chairman says        JM> he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't        JM> read it (but exempted themselves from it), and signed by a               Congress is not exempted from it. Congress has long met the        standards. Remember, the law does not establish a new demand        for insurance that congress doesn't already meet. Business that        provides insurance for it's employees are in compliance, as        congress already is. It's the insurance companies who have to        comply, and the exchanges only make their plans accessible to        those buying their own plans.               JM> President who smokes, with funding administered by a        JM> treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll               The treasury chief paid his taxes. He was delayed as he had        reason to believe the taxes in question were not due. When he        found out they were he paid them.               JM> be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by               Thank your republican breathern for that.               JM> a congress which has already bankrupted Social Security and               Social security is not bankrupt. Nor will it be if we get        unemployment down below 5% *REAL*. If we don't, don't worry        about it, because the country is going under.               JM> Medicare, all to be overseen by an obese surgeon general               Medicare will not be broke if we expand ACA to the quality of        *EVERY* other national health care plan in the industrialized        world.               JM> and financed by a country that's broke!!               The country is not broke, it's unemployed. Get unemployment down        to 5% real and the country starts to rebuild and solve our        problems.               JM> What the hell could possibly go wrong?'               The republicans could steal another election, and prove the        government doesn't work... under republicans.              BOB KLAHN bob.klahn@sev.org http://home.toltbbs.com/bobklahn              ...
