    When the issue came up a couple years ago a republican said you   
    don't see people dying in the streets without national health   
    care. The reason you don't is because hospitals have to take   
    people in for emergency treatment, that is a legal mandate. By   
    the reasoning you express above, you would see it, like we did   
    back in the '60s when hospitals were not required to take you   
    in, and people were refused admitance and died without ever   
    being admitted for medical treatment. That's why that mandate   
    was passed.
