Hello John,               JM>> 'Let me get this straight . . ..               JM>> We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced        JM>> to purchase and fined if we don't,               LL>> Nobody is "forced" to buy anything. However, those who refuse        LL>> will be gently reminded of their duty.              JM>Gently reminded of their duty? Sounds ominous.              George H.W. Bush called for a "kinder, gentler nation".       His son, George W. Bush, then went on to proclaim himself       as being a "compassionate onservative". President Barack       Obama ran on a campaign of "hope and change", making the       Bushes' vision possible to come true.               JM>> Which, purportedly covers at least ten million more people,               LL>> Nobody knows exactly how many people the Affordable Care Act will        LL>> cover. Hopefully everybody who needs it. But only time will tell.               JM> So 10 mil added is not unreasonable.              With Obama, everything is gonna be free. And that means for all 310       million Americans. Or 350 million Americans, if you count undocumented       workers and their kids as also being Americans.               JM>> without adding a single new doctor,               LL>> The Affordable Care Act is not an employer.               JM> Yet it provides (read hires) for 16,000 new Government jobs.              Thus taking folks off the welfare rolls.               JM>> but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,               LL>> There is nothing in the Affordable Care Act that can compel the IRS        LL>> to collect the fines imposed on those who refuse to purchase insurance.        LL>> IOW, no enforcement mechanism was put in place.               JM> So just exactly what will the 16,000 new Government agents be doing?              Serving the public.               JM>> written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it,               LL>> The Affordable Care Act was passed by both houses of Congress, not        LL>> just a committe, and then signed into law by President Barack Obama.              JM>That's true, but most of the work of molding the bill is done in the       JM>committee. For the Committee chairman to say of the finished bill       JM>that "he didn't understand it" is significant. Or at least I think       JM>so.              The Senate is controlled by Democrats. The House is controlled by       Republicans. Any bill that is passed by both the Senate and the House       must be ironed out by a committee and then sent for a re-vote so that       the bill that is passed is the same in both the Senate and the House.       As such, it is no wonder that nobody in Congress truly understands       the legislation that was passed and signed into law (re: the Affordable       Care Act).               JM>> passed by a Congress that didn't read it (but exempted themselves        JM>> from it),               LL>> Each member of Congress has a staff that reads everything put on a        LL>> table before them. Members of Congress have their own health care        LL>> package, as they should.              JM>As they should? Why should they have their own health care package?              Because it is the will of the people (we voted for them to represent       us).              JM>Every politician should be forced to depended on the same care they       JM>would get if they were indigent.              If it is the will of the people, then so be it. However, how are you       going to go about convincing politicians that your view is the will of       the people?              JM>Save money close the House and Senate medical facilities. Let them       JB>go to a local D.C. hospital and wait like us commoners.              Our nation's veterans have a right to use VA hospitals, clinics and       other facilities. It is a right our nation's veterans have earned,       and truly deserve. Members of Congress are elected public officials.       And each of those members deserve access to quality health care,       especially in the Washington D.C. area. Why would you, or any other       American, want to deny members of Congress from having the best access       to quality health care possible, given the nature of their jobs?       Remember, they are the ones who are providing a service to us, not       the other way around.               JM>> and signed by a President who smokes,               LL>> President Barack Obama no longer smokes, according to his wife.              JM>Then the photos of him smoking were Photoshopped?              You'll have to ask his wife. She would know.               JM>> with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his        JM>> taxes,               LL>> He may have been a bit late, but he did pay them. And he did promise        LL>> to pay his taxes on time from now on. So what's the problem?              JM>Well as long as he promises to be good and never do it again.              That's right. He's a good boy now and won't do it again. He promised.               JM>> for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take        JM>> effect,               LL>> Some benefits have already taken effect. Other benefits kick in later.              JM>So will the hidden taxes in this disgusting law.              If there are "hidden taxes" then nobody would know about them.               JM>> by a congress which has already bankrupted Social Security and        JM>> Medicare,               LL>> Social Security and Medicare are not bankrupt. Yet.              JM>Unless something changes they will be.              Social Security is an easy fix. Just change the formula. Medicare       and Medicaid are much more complex, as funding for those two programs       continue to dry up at an alarming rate. However, President Obama has       a plan, of which the Affordable Care Act is only the opening stage...               JM>> all to be overseen by an obese surgeon general and financed by a        JM>> country that's broke!!               LL>> Not to worry. The FDA has approved a pill for obesity and fatsos        LL>> will once again be able to return to work and save this country from        LL>> financial ruin.              JM>P.T. Barnum had to be right. There has to be a sucker born every       JM>minute, to explain why so many people are so gullible as to believe       JM>things like that.              And to think he almost got himself elected President.              JM>There is an FCC rule that all advertising on TV and Radio has       JM>to be true. Do you believe everything you see advertised on TV       JM>and Radio?              There is truth in advertising. Everybody knows that. However,       not everything you see is as it seems...               JM>> What the hell could possibly go wrong?'               LL>> We could get stuck with a president named Willard.              JM>Well if that's all that happens, things might begin to look up.              We already had one president named "Slick Willie". Do we really       need (or want) another one?              --Lee              --- MesNews/1.06.00.00-gb        * Origin: news://felten.yi.org (2:203/2)    |
