   >>LL>Where are these taxpayers moving to? They are moving to
   >>LL>RIGHT TO WORK states! Why? Because THAT'S WHERE THE JOBS
   >>LL>ARE AND WHERE THE MONEY IS!

BK>>Where? Lousiana where unemployment is on the level of Ohio?

LL> The economy in Louisiana is better than Ohio and most other
LL> states, thanks to future Vice President "Bobby" Jindal.

    IOW, you support Anchor Babies.

How is the economy better in Louisiana with the same unemployment?

    Maybe better for the 1%.

BK>>Florida where unemployment matches Illinois and is worse than
BK>>Michigan, or Mississippi where it's worse than all three?

LL> Not a problem. BP or some other oil company will spill more
LL> oil into the Gulf of Mexico and thus provide lots of jobs
LL> for the unemployed to pick up tar balls on the beaches.

And close down the fisheries, and destroy the breeding grounds?

BK>>Or do you mean North Carolina where unemployment is worse
BK>>than any midwestern state, and almost all New England states?

LL> Not to worry. President Romney will give oil companies the
LL> green light to drill for oil in the Atlantic.

Which will make the oil companies rich, but do damn little for
    the people of those states.

BK>>Or do you mean Nevada where unemployment is the worst of any
   BK>>state?

LL> Congress should pass a law subsidizing prostitution. Just

Is that your plan for recovery?

LL> like it has done for decades subsidizing sugar cane and
    LL> beet production.

Used to be I would drive to work and see sugar beet trucks going
down the highway during harvest season. Haven't seen those for
years. Just looked it up. The Ohio sugar beet industry is gone,
wiped out by low prices. Note that other sugar producers
subsidize their production, subidize exports, and tax imports.

I found a report on sugar prices internationally. Twenty four
countries were studied, including all the OECD developed
countries, 4 other countries considered developed that are no in
the OECD, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

All but a few developed countries have higher sugar prices than
the US. China and Hong Kong have prices way above most
countries. A handful of countries have prices so high they pull
the world average well above the US price. The US is in the
    lower 1/4th, by eyeball estimate.

LL> Farmers love those federal dollars. And
LL> so would every prostitute in America (especially those in
    LL> Nevada).

Though few would be prostitutes if their lives weren't screwed
    up. So no thanks.

BK>>On top of that, wages and benefits are worse in RTW states.

LL> I don't see any strippers on Bourbon Street complaining...

Get on to sit down for a talk about the world and see what they
    say.

BK>>Though the real dividing line seem to be North/South. South is
   BK>>worse for pay and benefits.

LL> Then why do so many artists and musicians choose to ply
LL> their trade in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast?

Why do so many choose to ply their trade elsewhere?

   >>BK>The prosperity of America has corresponded with the rise of the
   >>BK>unions.

   >>LL>That may have been true decades ago. But not today. Union
   >>LL>membership in Wisconsin is just barely 10 percent, and as
   >>LL>Governor

BK>>And as the unions decline poverty rises, the rate uninsured
BK>>rises, and incomes in general are stagnant or falling.

LL> That is a myth that unions would like you and others to
LL> believe. However, the truth is something far different.

No, it isn't. I doubt you have looked at the actual numbers, but
I have. What I said is true.

LL> For example, very few (if any) street musicians in the

What part of the population is made up of French Quarter street
    musicians?

    ...

BK>>There is no forced unionism in any state...NOW!

LL> Then why do unions insist on demanding folks to join a
    LL> union?

They don't demand, they don't gain anything by demanding. They
encourage and recruit, but demanding doesn't work.

   >>LL>as I have absolutely no doubt that President Romney will
   >>LL>sign it.

BK>>The beginning of the end for this country.

LL> This country survived long before any union came into
LL> existence. This country will survive long after unions
LL> cease to exist. So where's the problem?

Before unions workers were uniformly poor, as unions decline
workers become poorer. That's the problem.

BK>>Unless we manage to turn it around quickly.

LL> With what? Passage of a National Right to Work Bill would
LL> be a start. Otherwise, the economy will continue to putter
LL> along, as it has been for years.

The nation has puttered along much more since unions started to
decline. The nation reached it's economic peak with strong
    unions.
