   Rodney King is dead.  At age 47.  But at least he found redemption.   
   "The Riot Within: My Journey from Rebellion to Redemption", by Rodney   
   King, published in 2012 by Harper Collins.   
      
   Rodney King was stopped for speeding in March 1991 by four (white)   
   officers who went on to beat the living shit out of him and shoot   
   him with stun guns as a bystander videotaped the entire scene.  The   
   officers were later acquitted of all charges in 1992, causing race   
   riots in Los Angeles.   
      
   They say that only the good die young.  In today's world, age 47 is   
   much too young to die.  Rodney King was a black man who tried to teach   
   us by example what race relations should, and should not, be.  May his   
   eternal soul rest in peace.
