   Hello Richard,

   >MM>I think any religious group who advocates violence should get their

   >MM>or pastafarians.

   RW> to the last.
RW>I'm in complete agreement. The advocacy of violence is
RW>imho cause enough to revoke it.

Christianity is anti-violence and anti-war. Islam is anti-violence
and anti-war. However, it can be argued that Judaism is anti-violence,
but not necessarily anti-war. In fact, that is the general concensus
   of scholars and theologians.

I used to hold that same view, that Judaism is anti-violence but not
anti-war. However, after re-reading the book of Joshua (several times),
I came to the conclusion that the book of Joshua is a satire on war.
If that is the case, then Judaism must also be anti-war. I mean,
attacking an enemy by blowing trumpets, causing the walls to crumble,
thus destroying an entire city. Who the heck is going to take
anything like that as being a serious act of war? And who was the
enemy? Giants. Not men, but giants. Giants within the Earth.
The number of which is noted. Joshua was slaying giants. Kinda
like Jack. Only without the beanstalk.
