-=> Richard Webb wrote to DAVE DRUM <=-               RW> Yes, I find it a bit ludicrous when a big anti gay crusader        RW> gets caught hustling a bj in a mens' room, but, come on        RW> guys, there are much more important things to concern        RW> ourselves with. I'm more concerned about whether my        RW> grandson will have a future worth living, and whether i"ll        RW> still be able to ply my trade in my waning years and protect my        RW> investment in my future.               RW> And yet, no money for student loans, but more tax cuts for        RW> the rich. Yeah right. Just waht we need!              So I get home from work and there is a message on my phone from some pressure       group whining about how Congress Critter Tim Johnson and his fellow       Republicrats ... at which point I pushed the delete button. I am on every don't       call list for both land-line and cell phone -- yet I still get this sort of       call. Or phony "push-poll" calls that are (very) thinly disguised political       advertisements.              Some day I hope to be home when one of these calls comes in - so, I can wait       for the required "push #(whatever) to discontinue these calls and be removed       from our list. Or push #(whatever) to speak to a live operator."              Then I can vent on the hapless min-wage robot on the other end. And it will do       no more good at stopping the bullshit than when I did the same on one of the       robo-calls offering to lower my credit card interest rate. I never carry a       balance on my plastic. Ever. So, I really don't care - except the calls are       annoying.              And Congress Critter Tim Johnson has already dropped out the of race for his       seat, citing the usual "spend more time with the family, g'kids, etc." Which       means that he knew he was going to get his head handed to him either by the       voters or the FBI. Leaving the GOP (dis)organisation scrambling for a       sacrificial lamb to step in at the last minute and lose gallantly to a popular       candidate who almost whupped Johnson when it was a heavily Republican district       - before that current Donkey party legislature redrew the boundaries to make       the district more true-blue.              The other one I have been getting a lot of is one complaining about       "Obama-care". Hell, it was "Romney-care" before that clever thief filed the       serial numbers off of it and took it national. They claim to represent       (variously) some bunch of tea-baggers, or individual liberty group, etc.              Hell, I don't like paying taxes any better than anyone else. But, it's a lot       more palatable if I am getting something from my tax dollars besides a bridge       to nowhere and/or a $1600 ball peen hammer. And it would be even more palatable       if the fat cats and oligarchs had to pay their fair share ... as suggested by       fat cat Warren Buffet. But, all we read about Buffet these days is about his       prostate cancer. More smoke and mirrors.              I'll shut up now -- before I start babbling and drooling down my chin.
