   Some thoughts from an old man on copy rights.   
      
   I don't object to cr per se, but to the very long time it holds true.  IMO a   
   valid time might be 10 years at most, then it becomes public domain.   
      
   Why should a guy that writes a song have more rights to his work than a guy who   
   fixes computers or telephones?  Both are selling skills, but one is protected   
   and the other is pay and forget.   
      
   I'm bewildered that stuff like Glen Miller's work is still covered under cr.    
   Yeah, nice stuff, but get real here.  Even worse is now the cr are held by some   
   group, not even the family but some 'estate' type thing.   
      
   How do 'residuals' differ from cr?  Is it part of the actor's contract - do   
   they expire after a reasonable time?  (I don't know, just asking.)   
      
   Take any long running TV series - "Friends" for example.  Does Cox and Aniston   
   still get residuals from the reruns that are on every night?
