   Did anybody else read the article in the March 2012 Popular   
   mEchanics entitled "The winning way to trim the pentagon" by any chance?   
      
      
   i liked a lot of what i read there.  highlights were:   
      
   nuclear:  Lose the nuclear missile subs, the old Ohio class. Aircraft and   
   icbmlauncher facilities can do the job just as, if not more effectively.   
      
      
   Continue to support the f35 aircraft.  Its vertical takeoff   
   and landing capabilities can do a lot to make any flat top   
   transporter a carrier.   
      
   Also, do more sea basing, which would require developing   
   faster transport for material.   
      
   The ideas made sense to this old man anyway.   
      
   Anybody else read the piece care to comment?
