    Agreed. If all you saw of Starship Troopers you didn't get the   
    part where service is not just necessary to citizenship, but a   
    right of anyone who is capable of understanding the commitment.   
    If you signed up they had to take you, and they could and would   
    find something for you to do. Like CW operator?
