    I want everyone to do military basic training, assuming fitness   
    to do so. Which, if you think about it, is quite inclusive. They   
    can be in a reserve because you can never be sure when that   
    person might be needed.   
      
    Other than that, as you suggest, a wide variety of service can   
    count the same. Outside of war military jobs are much like   
    civilian jobs, there are a wide range available. Why not   
    non-military also?
