You are right, the US is moving closer and closer to the situation in
Russia. Although, free press now there is everywhere in the civilized
world. There is internet, satellites. The US radio station "Liberty"
broadcasts their programs right in Moscow, on medium waves.
Americans have been loosing there freedom in other way. When they chose
to support Israel in its unjust ways in Palestine they at long last had
brought terrorism to the mainland. After that Americans are not any
more free people. You are tapped, you are searched at airports like
criminals, they cannot freely and safely travel around the world, etc.
In short, they live in constant state of war, as Israel, and the
citizens of this country started feel themselves like at home. At every
moment there is a possibility of act of terrorism. They say that
Pakistan secret service worked for Bin Laden. I wonder who are the
Pakistan nuclear scientists worked for?
That's not all. In the US there appeared people who started to teach
other Americans how they must live. They say - you must not smoke!
Smokers became the most miserable creatures in the US. But where was
now the US without smoking people? Most of scientists, most of artists
constantly smoked, it helped them, and it was necessary for their work.
Now the gays have more rights that smokers. You can easily lost your
job if say something what they don't like.

A Christian priest is afraid to cite the Bible that sodomy is
abomination. Probably, very soon any Christian will be considered as an
offender, just because he reads the Bible.
In short, I see this picture:
People are very different. Some people think this way, another vise
versa. When a civilization has a majority group it directs all other
minor groups, and the civilization is going forward. It is the moving
force.
But if a civilization begins to treat all other minor forces as equal it
means that all the forces become equal and the civilization stalls.
That's why the US is doomed, and China is the country of the future.
They have a main moving force in all areas. And in the areas of moral
and aesthetics too. It means they will move in these areas much faster
than the others, who equalized forces.
