Hi, Lee Lofaso! How are you?
on Tuesday, 14 of February, I read your message to Alexander Koryagin
   about "Re: Whitney Houson R.I.P"

LL>> Whitney Houston is dead. At the ripe old age of 48. May her
    LL>> soul R.I.P.

AK>> Yes. Although her life is another piece of evidence that
AK>> abundance leads to perversion and fall. She was very high in
AK>> the eyes of people who loved her songs, but she fell extremely
AK>> low inside her own soul.

LL> She had a beautiful voice. Especially for gospel. Kind of like
LL> the female version of Elvis.

Singing gospel must not be in pair with soul losing. Otherwise the
   former process has no sense.

AK>> right way, she kept smiling. But after concerts she could not
AK>> find any human emotions that could help her soul to live. And
AK>> in a silent despair she switched off the remains of her soul
    AK>> with drugs and alcohol.

LL> Many of her fans viewed her as an angel because of her voice
LL> and the way she presented herself in public. But she was no
LL> angel, as she tried to tell the news media.

Well, suppose you see how a certain person burns himself into a nice
looking fire. Should a normal person admire it? I strongly doubt.
The problem is that show business has put things in such an order
that no one is interested in a singer if that singer does not burn
himself out. Only a crazy, screaming, suicide-prone person can touch
a bit the frozen emotions of modern humans. And they, as a rule,
think that things must be in this way. And they like to see how a
desperate man jumps on his bike over 20 cars, or they want to see
fighting without rules. They think nothing about the lost soul of
   the performer.

AK>> What is I like to say? People must not constantly be with
AK>> pleasant, beauty things. They must not constantly listen to
AK>> beautiful music, wear beautiful clothes; admire beautiful
AK>> faces, beautiful fumes, delicious cuisine, vine etc. If they
AK>> do, they lose the ability to admire these things. Things stop
AK>> to cause joy; you constantly must increase the dose. And, at
AK>> last, a lovely song turns to shriek and screaming, beautiful
AK>> clothes turns to fashionable rags over pierced skin. Happiness
AK>> turns to a substances oblivion.

LL> Without pain and suffering, there can be no joy. Leo Tolstoy
LL> was able to portray that idea in his novels. It is an idea that
LL> is prevalent in Buddhism, but also in Judaism and Christianity.

In other words: abundance or/and pleasure is not the way that leads
to joy. Vise versa it is the path to the hell. You can say, of
course, that Whitney had no pleasure from her life, either. But it
was for another reason -- she just could not have more pleasure. Her
sufferings were caused by the atrophy of her emotions, and no way
to joy was available for her. She could not live as a simple human
being. After her concerts she didn't know what to do.

LL> Let's suppose you were in a world surrounded by people who were
LL> all the same. Let's say everyone in that world pinched each
LL> other constantly. Would that be pleasure or would that be pain?
LL> If it is all you experience or have ever experienced, what is
LL> the difference? How would you be able to recognize the
LL> difference if you had not experienced both pleasure and pain?

Even Buddha refused from the way of suffering. He meant that there
is no reason to suffer for learning how to sympathize! You can learn
it through your mind. Similar, there is no reason to beat your
children with the purpose to show them what violence is.

AK>> beautiful it is when a person sings and dances, just because
AK>> his soul wants to sing or dance. He doesn't spent hours and
AK>> days polishing feelings. Feelings must not be polished!!!
AK>> Their main value is sincerity, virginity -- certainly not a
AK>> robotic perfection of a tired hopeless woman, a poor
    AK>> professional singer.

LL> Whitney had loads of raw natural talent. She would have been
LL> happy as can be singing in the choir of her local church had
LL> she not gained fame and notoriety through her recordings and
LL> public performances. In my opinion, the pressures put on her by
LL> others is what brought her down, not the talent she had for
    LL> singing.

I think that one of the most perverted thing in this world is that
people invented many wild professions and occupations: a
professional singer, a professional poet/writer and so on. Any job
that requires inspiration must not be professional. Inspiration is a
very rare thing. You can meet it just several times in your life.
And any singer, beginning his musical carrier, must be aware that,
or his life will be short.

LL> Why does society assume that movie stars, singers, and other
LL> famous personalities die in ways other than natural causes?

If they cannot live in natural way, they cannot die in this way.

LL> In the old days, movie stars, singers and other celebrities
LL> knew how to die -
LL> Buddy Holly died in a plane crash.
LL> James Dean died in a car crash.
LL> Gary Gilmore died by firing squad.

They would end up in a bad way anyway.

[...The chain is no stronger than its weakest link]
   Bye Lee!
