Interactive Net Server v7.0.454.5       Lines: 43              In the last release, we cleaned up the section Backup Operations. See that       section. There is a new option that allows you to open files in read mode.              However, if you are using XP/2003/2008/VISTA, you can use VSS or Volume       Shadow copy Service or some called it Volume Snapshot Service which       Microsoft uses to BREAK your protection of locked files in order to take a       "SnapShot" of the files. Only VSS can do this and other vendors that offer       Open File Agents. VSS is a competitor to OFA - basically put OFA people       out of business but OFA is still good for pre XP systems like 2000 and NT.              VSS is nice in that it NTBACKUP supports it. So you can use your normal       NTBACKUP to backup Wildcat! now - COMPLETELY.              If you want to use the new special Registry Flag that WCSERVER will use to       open the files in read mode, with this you can use any command line tool to       copy files, like ROBOCOPY.EXE. I can't be sure if ROBOCOPY supports VSS in       maybe 2008 and Vista, but I don't think in XP/2003 - if I remember.              For that, I have a Wildcat! VSS command line tool that will work for       XP/2003 that I will be coming out for testing once I add a few more things       to it.              But if you have XP/2003+, NTBACKUP will work to backup Wildcat! using VSS       and no special flag is needed, keeping the integrity of the system intact.              Let us know what you find in your exploration of this.              --                     On 2008-08-14 5:46 PM, DAVID DEMBSKI wrote to HECTOR SANTOS:              > Dear Hector,       >        > Something it would be nice is a WINS data backup tool, which will backup all        > settings, databases and extra files, which are within the WINS core.       >        > Export settings, databases and extra files       > Import settings, databases and extra files       >        > Cheers,       > David                --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.1        * Origin: Prison Board BBS Mesquite Tx //telnet.RDFIG.NET www.
