NA> And when I state my logical reasons why, most of the time I am looked upon
NA> as an idiot because I don't publish source code like Mystic, HPT and
    NA> Synchronet.

Mystic is not open source. I think it was for a short time but not now. It is
very much g00r00's software and I think he and the users of the software like
it that way, and that approach works well for Mystic and lots of software,
   D'Bridge included.

I am a linux guy myself though not very techie. I don't dislike windows I just
prefer linux. After OS/2 went bye bye I made the switch to linux.

NA> All three of those programs are very nice, but have had the exact same
NA> problems as closed-source mailers, tossers, BBS software etc. If the code
NA> is open source, shouldn't there be such a huge crowd of people working to
    NA> fix it?

If they care to, yes. Having those people on board is key to open source. Even
without maintenance software can find itself in an unusable state.
