   Didn't you mean to type "isn't"? :)

But anyway, one reason is simply liking the idea of having a large
family. When you grow up in one, it seems a lot more normal... and,
when your own family is smaller, but your parent's family may have been
larger, it seems more interesting. Plus, with a large family, there's
always enough kids for outdoor games (soccer, tag, etc) without having
   to scrounge up the neighborhood...

Of course, being the oldest of eight siblings, and having helped raise
the younger half or so of them, I was ready for a slightly smaller
family... 3 or 4 sounded good to me. :) Hubby, being the younger of
two, thought we should have 2 or 3... so we figured we'd compromise on
   3. We ended up with only one, as that was all we were able to have due
   to infertility.

But, my parents have 34 living grandchildren... if I counted right.
Something like that, anyway... :) The largest families of them have 5,
7 and 10, respectively... And still no Catholics among them... ;)

... Time has a wonderful way of weeding out the trivial.
