His feed for the        NB> latter is Jack Yates who is off on vacation with the bbs on auto-pilot.        NB> So, at the moment, I'm sending messages out from some of my backup bbs's        (snipped)               SR> I have seen this happen it is a pain as you never know what is going        SR> on, are people ignoring you or what. Still at least you have it worked        SR> out now               Oh, I've been around Fido for years... I learned to have always some       sort of backup to, if nothing else, see if my messages have made it out       anywhere else... So I always have been getting my messages from at       least 2 bbs's, and always have my messages included in the packet.        Messages were always going missing in the GENEALOGY echo... and since we       were looking for vital info (pun partly intended), we tended to check up       if there'd been no response... "Didn't you get my message? Should I       re-send?" :)              But I tend to only send out from one bbs, usually... until a time like       this. And then I don't know how reliable or not a place is for sending       out messages until I actually try them out. But, yes, I've got things       worked out pretty well now... for now, anyway... |
