On 10 Sep 05 00:53:39, Raymond Yates got back to Danny Ceppa        -> Re: John's Surgery               DC>> On both. 2 of the local rivals tout their awards.        RY>> Standard promotions.. you should see the process by which they        RY>> get picked, it's politics..                DC> I'm sure it makes the Oscars look legit!               RY> As legit as a Vegas dealer pitching seconds from a cold deck..               RY> (dealing the second card from the top from a stacked deck)              I love card tricks, but my fingers don't like me!               But, I can do one trick very well. }:-)               I've actually fooled people that play cards a lot, a very lot! The        real kicker it that not only do I show them the card they selected        but I give that card to them and the rest of the deck for them to shuffle.               Then, I find their card.               Actually, I 'miss'. If it was the 4 of clubs, I show them the        4 of spades. They almost are impressed until they realize that        the suit is wrong.               It's then that I "give up" and throw the deck onto the table.        That's when the 4 of clubs literally pops up.               And no, I don't palm the 4 of clubs, or have a second one of them.        It's a legitinate deck with 52 cards. They can count both before        and after. In fact, I insist it is their set of cards. They        get to suffle both before and after they select the card.               You need to see how easy the trick is to perform and how effective        it is to understand why it works. My 'miss' on the call allows me to        take it a bit further and make them pick the next card that I tell them        that it will be.                                     --- OMX/Blue Wave/DOS v2.30        * Origin: Soundly on the Fault Line (1:138/666.0)    |
