   Hey Nancy!

The last printer I had was an early HP inkjet. It was good for it's intended
work but since then the need for a printer has been outweighed by the
associated cost and hassel. Digital has been of a greater consequence to me
   personally with respect to communications.

NB> And I'm only a borderline techie at best, I think.

I think you're on this side of that border.

NB> Yeah, yeah... I meant, of course, on this computer, as it is

Neither was I. Everything I know was learned the hard way although some
gained knowledge was prompted from reading. There is some really good stuff
out there but it is hard to find.

NB> Could well be. This not-really-a-techie really doesn't know the
NB> difference... although I admit I've heard people talking about it and
NB> all, and have a vague idea what it means for graphics... :)

Actually graphics aren't that difficult except with respect to formats. Raw
rgb is fairly simple. The real problem with graphics is where it is outputted
   to.

NB> You sound like my friend Tika, who also loves Linux... :)

I am not in love with it but instead with the brute raw power intrinsic in the
design. I seem to be a sucker for challenges that require access to raw power.

NB> our machines, I'll be happy enough with it... :) Like I've said, I
NB> already know that I use some *nix commands on this machine... :)

Yep. Probably some VMS leakage too.

   Life is good,
