   Now that one I recognize as a bbs telnet address, probably also his web   
   bbs address.  Actually, I suspect that that one is now a defunct bbs, as   
   I haven't been able to log on there for quite a while now, or even   
   connect to him.  He was running Synchronet, which is supposed to have   
   all sorts of Internet capabilities.  He also had problems with things   
   working right, such as in the games... so perhaps there were other   
   issues in his set-up as well.   FWIW.

   I don't think that the echolist has anything to do with this.  All it   
   takes is having a bbs facing the Web as well as Telnet. :(  Or someone,   
   whether maliciously or thoughtlessly, allowing access to the content of   
   the echos on an open website...  At least from what I can gather....   
      
   I suspect that some people thought they had a good idea to promote   
   Fidonet, and didn't think through the ramifications very well... :(
