NB>> After all, life tends to be somewhat repetitious, or at least cyclic...;)
DAG> That it does. The unending lifecycles, bound to the meatsingularity
DAG> to dominate biological existance for all of time. :)

   Yeah... something like that...

NB>> Yeah, that was a bad scene all around...
DAG> It was. I don't think other stressors at the job would get me
DAG> nearly as bad when I don't have to travel so unbelievably far each way
DAG> only to get to an environment where the schedule is wrong and I came in
DAG> for nothing 50% of the time anyway. These other businesses are
DAG> established, at the very least, so those kind of kinks should have been
DAG> worked out quite awhile ago. Plus my son's friend's mom is BOH
DAG> management there, too, so it sounds like a pretty decent environment
DAG> from what I've heard so far.
     (...)
DAG> Not yet. Scheduling conflicts kept me from getting in to both
DAG> places today, but I did manage to get a couple of applications for
DAG> different positions in at a gas station right across from the
DAG> convenience store that I'd hoped to work for. So it was not all for
    DAG> naught.

Anything come of any of those applications yet...?

DAG> Another experience to learn from. I'm here, sink or swim. I'm going
DAG> to start getting familiar with the homeless resources here a lot
    DAG> better just in case.

   Probably a wise thing... :)

DAG> We've finally made rent for this next month, so we're saved there, but
DAG> there's still a utility shut off notice coming and a rent increase. If
DAG> we don't make it to another place and we're not both employed, those
DAG> resources might end up saving my keister.

Yup. Hope things work out nicely, somehow or other...

DAG>> Barely scraped by on the stuff due tomorrow. Leaves me at 0 for
DAG>> the next month, so something is going to have to change and real
    DAG>> quick like here.

Any good news on that front, yet...?

NB>> At least he has a friend now... :)
DAG> Oh for sure. :) He seemed to be getting along pretty well with the
DAG> kids at practice, too. I think the team building is going to be very
DAG> good for him. He did ask me about getting out of practice the other
DAG> day when we went to go do his drills at the playground, though. His
DAG> fingers were getting cold and he was cranky about having to have his
DAG> hands out for the dribbling practice drills, so I understand that,
DAG> but... a part of me can't help but wish my parents had supported me in
DAG> some of the things I wanted to try. And given that extra push so that
DAG> I could have developed some qualities for skills that take a long time
DAG> and a lot of practice to develop.

Sometimes we learn from our parents' mistakes... ;) But it's good that
he's making friends with the kids on the team, too... :)

DAG> Anyway, I paid for it and we're hurting so bad for cash right now,
DAG> there's no way he's wasting the money that I put down on that. ;)
DAG> I know he'll enjoy the main practices with his friends, anyway. He's
DAG> just cranky about having 'homework', even of a physical variety; at
DAG> least as long as the weather is this crappy.

Can't really blame him for being a bit cranky about the weather... I
know I'm less willing to be out in the less than ideal stuff myself,
   after all... ;)

NB>> Maybe she doesn't mind about it either... My house has been a real mess
NB>> for ages now... I just tell people that if they want to see me, that's
NB>> fine, but if they are going to be fussed about the house, not to
NB>> bother.. ;) Some years ago, I was apologizing to the mother of one of
NB>> my piano students about the mess, and she, quite graciously, reminded me
NB>> that the important thing to her was that I was teaching her kids piano,
    NB>> not my housekeeping... ;)
DAG> She said she doesn't mind, but I do, as a single parent in the
DAG> situation that I'm in. I get afraid of people wanting to call child
DAG> welfare or something of the sort that would make my situation so much
DAG> worse. I mean this place isn't that bad, I doubt even the most
DAG> conservative folks would consider calling in a place just for having a
DAG> bit of disarray around, but he's my only little man and I don't know
DAG> what I'd do without him. I like to try to minimize those risks as much
    DAG> as possible.

I hear you... but you don't need to get paranoid about it, ya know... ;)
Especially with people that really don't mind... :)

DAG> Keeping a clean and orderly life makes me feel a lot
DAG> better about that, but I just can't get it implemented here until we're
DAG> in a bigger place, farther out where the rent is reasonable.

Lots of reasons to get a better place... :)

DAG>> try to make it a bit farther through some of the cleaning tasks and
DAG>> everything, but it needs to be when I can focus a day on that and
NB>> And, did it accomplish...? ;)
DAG> I got bunches done. :) There's a nice big free spot now, and some
DAG> other areas are getting cleaned up because my roommate is selling his
DAG> superfluous stuff trying to make sure that we can make ends meet for
DAG> rent and potentially to move to a much better rental zone. Things are
DAG> actually coming along pretty nicely on the home front. Just needs a
DAG> couple of more good days of work in here and it won't be bad, though
DAG> the crap density will still be far too high.

   Sounds promising... :)

   ttyl neb
