Hey Danny!              Oct 07 10:09 05, Danny Ceppa wrote to Maurice Kinal:               DC> I've never tried to network directly in DOS. But, I know that         DC> I can access programs and data from a networked computer.               As well as the reverse. When I was networking in the real world we had a PC       stashed away that was wired into the fibre optic network so that when the       servers were under a high load we had a backdoor into the scheme that worked       independantly from the scheme. It worked but to be honest there was far too       many hoops to jump through to hack it to work with the network. Looking back,       Linux would have been excellent to have back then and saved a ton of grief.              Besides that, where I am now, you couldn't even dream of booting DOS on any       machine here let alone install it. I still find myself hacking, even with       Linux, but at least I have the proper tools at my disposal. I can't say that       about DOS.              Life is good,       Maurice              --- Msged/LNX 6.1.2        * Origin: Coffin Point - Ladysmith, BC Canada (1:340/401.1)    |
