   As well as the reverse.  When I was networking in the real world we had a PC   
   stashed away that was wired into the fibre optic network so that when the   
   servers were under a high load we had a backdoor into the scheme that worked   
   independantly from the scheme.  It worked but to be honest there was far too   
   many hoops to jump through to hack it to work with the network.  Looking back,   
   Linux would have been excellent to have back then and saved a ton of grief.   
      
   Besides that, where I am now, you couldn't even dream of booting DOS on any   
   machine here let alone install it.  I still find myself hacking, even with   
   Linux, but at least I have the proper tools at my disposal.  I can't say that   
   about DOS.
