My late wife would have a Rum and Coke on occasion...mainly if she was
ill. She'd put a small amount of Jamaica White Rum in a glass, then the
rest with Coca-Cola, and drink it down. It put her to sleep, and she felt
much better the next morning. It was the only time my late wife touched
alcohol. In my case, I've never smoked or drank in my life.

Now, when I go out to eat at a restaurant, I have to have adequate
beverage when I eat. My late wife would eat her food first, then drink
down her beverage to fill up the nooks and crannies. In my case, I tend
to have several glasses of soda (usually Sprite or Sierra Mist...I'm
trying to avoid caffeine at all costs). So, I quip to the server that
"I'm into heavy drinking, so keep an eye on me".

As for smoking, the only thing I want smoking is the food on the
   dinner plate...or at least steaming.
