   That too but also outdated ferries where maintenence has started to cost more   
   then replacement.  That one accident a month or so agao apparently was caused   
   by failure of some $10 part (a cotter pin) which in failing caused millions in   
   damage.  That one was just serviced before the accident.

   I agree.  They have a water taxi service between Nanaimo and Vancouver that   
   caters to purely foot passengers and from what I've heard about it is   
   absolutely what the doctor ordered.  At least that works.
