         1 cn Sardines   
         1 lg Bermuda onion   
              Spices; to taste   
              Whole grain bread or   
              - crackers   
      
     The ingredients can either be layered directly on the bread (cream   
     cheese, onion, sardines), or if you don't like the sight of a whole   
     sardine, it can be chopped up with the onion and mixed with the cream   
     cheese before spreading on bread.   
      
     Cream cheese blended with a small amount of milk for smoothness can   
     also be mixed with walnuts and dates for a perfect dessert or light   
     meal.
