         Yield: 5 Servings   
      
         1 c  Corn meal   
         1 ts Salt   
     2 1/2 c  Water; cold   
     1 1/2 lb Ground beef   
              Bacon drippings   
         1 lg Onion; chopped   
              Pepper   
         1 lb Can crushed tomatoes   
         1 pk Chili mix   
     1 1/2 c  Whole kernel corn; cooked,   
              - drained   
         1 c  Cheddar cheese; shredded   
      
     Combine corn meal, water, and salt; cook until thick--set aside but   
     keep warm. Using bacon drippings, brown meat slightly. Stir in onion,   
     pepper, tomatoes, and chili mix--allow to simmer 10 to 15 minutes.   
     Combine tomatoes and corn in another pan, let heat through. Pour into   
     a greased casserole dish, then spread meal mixture on top. Bake at   
     350?F for 40 to 45 minutes--then sprinkle cheese on top--bake until   
     it melts.
